As of 3 April 2020, the Government of Zimbabwe, through the Ministry of Health and Child Care, confirmed a cumulative 9 cases of COVID-19 in Zimbabwe. Going by global trends, more cases could be anticipated and a comprehensive and inclusive preparedness and response is a priority. In light of the pandemic, Youth Connekt Zimbabwe, in collaboration with Ministry of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation is looking to support Zimbabwean youth entrepreneurs between the ages of 16-35 who have ready made products or services that can be quickly deployed in response to the pandemic.

Products/services may include but not limited to:

General products or services that can help ease the impact of COVID-19 on communities, with special interest in informal economies, high population density areas

Technology solutions that can help prevent, mitigate and assist communities and instituions to fight the impacts of the virus

Essential medical supplies with direct impact on the COVID-19 prevention and response. These have to be supplies that conform to WHO standards;

Hand sanitisers recommended by WHO

Hand washing and protective equipment for health workers

The Start-up Tour Bus will be virtual this time around. Youth-owned enterprises that fit the criteria and already have the products /services and in need of support to deploy or scale your solution. Fill in attached form to express your interest. Rural youths, young women and persons with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.
